Snail for Sale

Snail for Sale
Genre: Picture book
“That’s it!” said Snail. He’d finally had enough of living in his shell. It was just too cramped! It was time to put up a For Sale sign and look somewhere else for the perfect place to stay. So off Snail goes, leaving his cramped Shell behind him, and he visits his good friends to try out their homes for size. But will any of them be the perfect place for Snail to stay?
About the Book

“That’s it!” said Snail, “I’ve had enough
My shell’s too small for all my stuff!”

“The time has come to up and sell,
It’s just too cramped inside this shell!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay.

PIG

You can share with me,” said Pig
My sty’s a mess but nice and big!”

“It’s perfect Pig, don’t get me wrong,
But, phew, that pong is rather strong!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay.

MOUSE

You can share with me,” said Mouse
It’s squeaky-clean inside my house!”

“It’s lovely Mouse, but what a squeeze,
To squash in here with all your cheese!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay.

MOLE

You can share with me,” said Mole
You’ll really dig my cosy hole.”

“Forgive me Mole, it sure is roomy
But really rather dark and gloomy!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay.

SPIDER

You can share with me,” said Spider
If it’s too small I’ll weave it wider!

“I’m sorry Spider, it’s just too tricky
Moving on a floor so sticky!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay.

RAT

You can share with me,” said Rat
You’ll love my slimy, grimy flat!

“It’s no good Rat, I like your sewer
But I’m seeking something slightly newer!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay.

CROW

You can share with me,” said Crow
Just check the lovely views below!

“The thing is Crow, I just hate heights!
Being this high gives me the frights!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay.

FROG

You can share with me,” said Frog
Beneath this cramped and damp old log.”

“You’re too kind Frog, but it’s no use,
I’m more at home as a recluse!”

And so Snail went upon his way,
To find the perfect place to stay…
…a perfect place not in the trees,
…or such an awfully cheesy squeeze!
…a perfect place not in the dark,
…or squashed beneath damp, rotting bark,
…a perfect place that looks like new,
…not with a floor that’s just like glue!
…a perfect place that doesn’t smell…
…a perfect place just like…his shell!

And so Snail went inside his shell,
He’d found his perfect place to dwell.
